I love taking pictures of toys.
Everything else? Not so much.
Why? Because I prefer to be in the moment and see everything happening around me. When you spend all your time looking through the lens of a camera or staring at the screen on your phone, you miss the things happening in your peripherals.
In copywriting, if you focus too much on a fixed point, you miss opportunities to tell different stories – stories that might be more meaningful and powerful. That’s why it’s good to interview not only your clients but their customers as well.
These different perspectives, even those on your peripheral, help you get the whole story and not just the one you expected to tell.
