Dancers fascinate me.
No matter the style – ballet, hip hop, tap – the graceful way in which they glide across the stage and move their bodies so effortlessly, it absolutely fascinates me.
But I know their secret. It’s the secret to achieving expertise in anything. It’s starting with the basics and spending countless hours practicing and practicing and practicing. It’s studying what you’re doing right so you can fine-tune it and what you’re doing wrong so you can correct it. It’s finding someone who can teach and mentor you so you can avoid a lot of mistakes along the way. It’s doing the same thing over and over again until you don’t even think about it. You just do it.
Because no matter what you’re doing, whether it’s dance, sports, music, cooking or copywriting, the more you do it, the better you become.
Like the old adage says, practice makes perfect.
Until next time, may the Force be with you…
