January 4, 2021, is National Trivia Day!
I don’t know about you, but I love trivia. My wife says I’m her personal Wikipedia. I have so many random bits and odd pieces of knowledge jammed into this brain I’m surprised I still know how to tie my shoes.
While most of the knowledge I have is useless in the real world (does anyone care that Luke Skywalker’s X-34 landspeeder was built by the fictional SoroSuub Corporation?), the fact that I can retain this type of information is really valuable when it comes to marketing.
You see, marketing isn’t just about knowing your product or service. It’s about knowing your target audience and answering three key questions:
- Who is your target audience?
- What problem do they need help with?
- What do they want or need?
If you’re able to get as specific as possible with these three questions, you can craft copy that speaks directly to the people you want to market to without wasting time or money.
Until next time, may the Force be with you.
